Visit JASNO at the Dutch Design Week Eindhoven
At the Dutch Design Week Eindhoven (The Netherlands), JASNO will be presenting its new product JASNO folds: roman blinds with Dutch Design.
In 2012, JASNO contracted studio Daphna Laurens to come up with a series of innovative variants on existing window decorations. The result of that work is the JASNO folds. Studio Daphna Laurens decided to go back to the very essence of the folding curtain, a process that has resulted in an innovative design which also ties in seamlessly with the existing collection of shutters and wooden blinds from JASNO.
The JASNO folds are different from any folding curtain you will have come across. The textile is produced from woven paper. This material gives the fold a tough, durable look. Perhaps the most remarkable element of the folds is the wooden slats. Also look out for the knobs on the wooden slats. These ensure that the cords are cleanly guided at the back while providing a unique design element at the front.
Together with JASNO, studio Daphna Laurens has demonstrated with this product how functional elements can also be used visibly. Specifically these unique and visible characteristics make the JASNO fold such an eye-catching product.
